Welcome. T’ ânsi tawow.

Thank you for visiting the online home of BRAID Research and the Mobile Diabetes Screening Initiative (MDSi).

BRAID Research and MDSi work out of the University of Alberta in Edmonton. BRAID Research runs a number of diabetes research projects, including the MDSi program which provides diabetes screening to off-reserve Aboriginal and other remote communities in Alberta.

Do I have diabetes?
The best way to find this out is to see your health care provider for testing and to answer any questions you may have.  Our mobile MDSi program travels to communities and provides testing for people who don’t have easy access to a doctor or health facilities.  We can test you, and based on your results we can tell you if you need more testing and medical advice.  You can check here for a quick test to see if you are at risk for diabetes.
